Re-

Re- is a modular and content driven web browser. Re- was initilized by amir houieh as his graduation project at Royal Academy of Art- The Hague.

Designers today face a new paradigm in which readers have become users, more cohesively utilizing digital means of mass communication and information exchange. As a graphic designer I find the utilization of web browsers as the most effective and relevant means in which we can work within this phenomenon.

Re- as a modular platform gives the user more power over design and content structure, which in turn works by cutting out unnecessary noise from a webpage. It functions as a more focused work tool which is exponentially efficient and reliable in terms of reading experience and information consumption on the web. Re- shifts the user’s experience of reading information and browsing the web; users decide which information they want to see, by completely customising their browsing experience.

Modular-content

Users can create/develop their own content modules. Re- has four modules by default: 'text', 'image', 'hyperlinks' and 'metadata' modules which user can add/active one or more of them.

Customisable-content

The idea of the modular-content gives you the possibilities of redesigning/reframing the content of a web page with css/html, javascript. Hence this is user who can decide how for example google looks on their browser.

Faster

Since Re- does not take the webpages for grant and does not render javascript and css resources of a webpage, it is much faster compair to other conventional browsers.

Open-source

Re- is an open source project. you can clone the entire project repo on Github and of course any contribution will be welcome.
